March, 2009

Dear SCCS Parents, Grandparents, and Friends:

At the Board of Directors meeting on January 27, 2009, the members of the Board voted to approve a Long Range Plan for Southwest Chicago Christian Schools.  Although this provides administration a plan to guide their direction, each step of the plan ultimately will be approved by the Association through the vote on property transactions.  This provides continued review of the plan and potential adjustment if it is deemed necessary by future boards.

The actual SCCS Board motion as well as details of the plan are available for download.

As you review the plan, you will read that the Committee has spent several years developing the plan utilizing the wisdom of our constituency through surveys and town meetings, the expertise of real estate agents and appraisers, and demographic studies from a variety of sources.

Further, there is no specific time frame connected to it. The timing will be driven by a variety of factors including:  the economy, current real estate market, and, ultimately, by the vote of the Association. Each component of the plan has a sale or purchase of property which requires a 2/3 majority Association approval.

The Board would appreciate hearing your comments and has set up three evenings for discussion of the plan:

When: April 20, 21, or 27

Time:   7 p.m.

Where: Chicago Christian High School Auditorium

Please consider the importance of your role in this process - as prayer warriors for the plan; as wise advisors to give us feedback.  Your concerns and excitement for the plan are invaluable. Finally, after the town meeting discussion, your written input will be requested as how to improve and/or enhance the plan.

We look forward to your participation. Be sure to check the website for the presentation; if that is not possible, copies are available in the Association Office.

Thank you for your continued prayers for the Board, Administration, teachers, and staff.

Sincerely,

Rick Van Dyken

SCCS Board President
